Job summary

Ellern Mede Barnet is seeking a part- or full-time HCPC registered clinical or counselling psychologist to work with young adults (18+) with eating disorders and complex mental health presentations. The role offers a pro rata salary between £55k and £65k, negotiable by experience, with 3-5 days per week and on-site duties.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, provide assessments, formulations and therapy, and contribute to research and service development within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology including specific models of psychopathology and psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
• Current registration with the HCPC as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
• Formal training in supervision of other psychologists.
• Experience of working as a qualified clinical/counselling psychologist within CAMHS or Adult Mental Health.
• Experience of teaching and training.
• Experience of developing and running groups.
• Experience of supervision of staff.
• Post qualification experience of working patients with eating disorders and/or co-morbidities (e.g. ASD, complex trauma, EUPD, depression, OCD, self-harm).
• Experience of the application of clinical or counselling psychology in different cultural contexts.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, formulations and therapy to patients and their families.
• Deliver specialist psychological interventions (individual, family and group) and uphold therapeutic relationships.
• Work with MDT and other psychologists, assistant psychologists, and support workers.
• Be supervised by a consultant or senior clinical psychologist and contribute to training and research.
