Job summary

PER International is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Bradley Stoke to develop 3D models and 2D drawings for new and existing products. You will collaborate with Sales, Design, Purchasing and Production to ensure successful delivery and WAR alignment with ownership values.

The role requires SolidWorks proficiency, 3-5 years of industrial mechanical experience, and ability to design sheet metal cabinets and assemblies while applying ISO 9001/ISO 14001 guidance. ERP familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
Approximately three to five years of industrial mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering experience.
Experience producing 3D models and 2D drawings.
SolidWorks experience.
Experience designing fabricated sheet metal cabinets, housings or assemblies.
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes (laser cutting, punching, folding).
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel/Word).
Good numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

Create 3D models, 2D drawings, electro-mechanical schematics, assemblies and BOMs.
Design sheet metal housings, assemblies, mounting systems and cable routing.
Assist with 3D visuals and animations for Sales, Service and Training.
Analyze designs using materials, manufacturing processes and design techniques.
Use models to validate designs against stress, load and thermal needs.
Support prototype manufacture, testing and validation and documentation.
