Job summary

PER International is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to generate 3D models and 2D drawings for new and existing products, collaborating across Sales, Design, Purchasing and Production. You will work with suppliers and customers to ensure successful product delivery and meet quality standards.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree with 3–5 years’ industrial experience, SolidWorks proficiency and experience in sheet metal cabinets or assemblies.

Qualifications

• Experience producing 3D models and 2D drawings.
• SolidWorks experience.
• Design of sheet metal cabinets, housings or assemblies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel and Word).
• Good numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, electro-mechanical schematics, assemblies and BOMs for new products and sub-assemblies.
• Design sheet metal housings, assemblies, mounting systems, fan guards and mechanical packaging.
• Assist with 3D model illustrations and animations for Sales, Service and Training.
• Apply knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and design techniques.
• Analyze designs with stress, load and thermal requirements using models.
• Support prototype manufacture, testing and validation, and document performance.
