Job description

A particular and significant task of this post will be to support the Innovation Director, Managing Director of Research & Innovation, and Associate Director of Research & Innovation in implementing the Trust Research & Innovation Strategy.

The primary objective is to ensure that innovation activities address the needs of the Clinical Directorates in delivering the highest quality clinical care. This will require active development of new collaborations and relationships, as well as ongoing effective management of these partnerships.

The Clinical Research & Innovation Office (CRIO) supports the institution to:

  • Enable their strategy of developing high-quality research, securing significant funding, and capacity building in the pursuit of research and innovation excellence and success.
  • Provide a supportive, researcher-centred, streamlined approach for stimulating, training, supporting, governing, costing, and contracting translational, clinical, and health services research across the two institutions.

The postholder will work with a range of local, regional, and national partners to facilitate the development, implementation, and delivery of innovative solutions. They will also help develop SMART measures to assess performance, focusing on key areas such as:

  • Developing partnerships with industry and universities.
  • Producing innovation case studies.
  • Facilitating technology adoption.
  • Ensuring effective information, support, and governance systems are in place.
  • Increasing Trust staff awareness and engagement in innovation activities.
  • Enhancing capability and capacity for growth in innovation.
  • Exploiting innovation opportunities.
  • Developing effective monitoring of relevant and useful Key Performance Indicators.
