Job summary

M&B is looking for an Overnight Night Porter to welcome guests, manage late check-ins, and support front-of-house duties across sites. Typical shifts run from 11pm to 7am, with responsibilities including safety, cleanliness, and breakfast setup to ensure a smooth guest experience.

You’ll be the first point of contact for late arrivals, provide a warm welcome, handle guest inquiries, and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for all guests and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering guest care and service.
• Ability to work independently and lone shifts.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for late arrivals and walk-ins.
• Provide a warm, friendly welcome to guests.
• Assist with front-of-house cleaning and breakfast setup.
• Maintain guest and business safety and security.
• Evacuate guests and staff safely in case of a fire.
• Answer calls and resolve guest complaints to ensure a pleasant stay.

Job description

This is an overnight position, with shifts typically ranging from 11pm to 7am (depending on the site). Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the recruitment process.

WHAT YOU'LL DO IN THIS ROLE:

• Be the first point of contact when checking in late arrivals and walk-ins.
• Ensure a warm, friendly and genuine welcome to all guests.
• The role is varied and, depending on your site, may include: cleaning tasks within the front of house, external and breakfast areas, setting up the meeting room(s) and breakfast for the next day
• You'll ensure guest and business safety and security is top priority at all times.
• In the event of a fire, evacuating all guests and team from the business safely and quickly
• Answer telephone enquiries and deal with guest complaints to ensure everyone enjoys their stay.
