Job summary

5S Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Injection Mould Setter for a permanent night shift role. Working four nights per week, you will set, adjust and optimise moulding machines, monitor performance and maintain quality, with a Friday–Sunday weekend.

You will receive £18.12 per hour plus a £50 attendance allowance, weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits platform. The role offers excellent work‑life balance, on‑site parking and ongoing training within a supportive manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Injection Mould Setter in plastics.
• Strong tool changing and machine setting skills.
• Good process optimisation and fault-finding abilities.
• Experience monitoring cycle times and quality metrics.
• Knowledge of masterbatch calibration.
• Good IT skills and basic ERP usage.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Set, adjust and optimise injection moulding machines.
• Carry out safe tool changes according to production schedules.
• Monitor machine performance, cycle times and product quality.
• Diagnose and resolve process and machine issues.
• Calibrate masterbatch units per setting sheets and requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety and quality in the production area.
• Record downtime, scrap and production data in ERP system.
• Provide supervisory cover during holidays and absences.
• Collaborate with operators, supervisors and management to hit targets.

The Role

As an Injection Mould Setter, you will play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities include:

• Setting, adjusting and optimising injection moulding machines to maximise efficiency and output.
• Carrying out safe and efficient tool changes in line with production schedules.
• Monitoring machine performance, cycle times and product quality.
• Diagnosing and resolving process and machine issues to minimise downtime.
• Calibrating masterbatch units in accordance with setting sheets and production requirements.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, safety and quality throughout the production area.
• Recording downtime, scrap and production data accurately using the company's ERP system.
• Providing supervisory cover during holidays and periods of absence when required.
• Working closely with operators, supervisors and management to achieve production targets.

The Candidate

To be successful in this Injection Mould Setter position you will ideally have:

• Previous experience working as an Injection Mould Setter within a plastic injection moulding environment.
• Strong tool changing and machine setting experience.
• Good process optimisation and fault-finding skills.
• Experience monitoring cycle times, quality standards and reducing rejects.
• Knowledge of masterbatch calibration and processing adjustments.
• Good computer literacy and experience using production or ERP systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A proactive, organised and methodical approach.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• A good understanding of Health & Safety within manufacturing.
