Job summary

Planet Recruitment in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, is seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Setter to join a global manufacturer. The role covers mould changes, machine set-ups, process optimisation and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced production environment.

You will produce First Off samples, monitor performance and contribute to SMED/TPM initiatives. The package includes £40,000–£45,000 per year, shift allowance and 4 on/4 off pattern, with pension, life assurance and career

Qualifications

• Experience as an Injection Moulding Setter essential.
• Formal Injection Moulding Setting qualification.
• Formal Injection Moulding Processing qualification.
• Experience with cranes, lifting & slinging and powered pallet trucks (PPT).
• IMT qualification desirable.
• Excellent communication and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare production changeovers to minimise downtime.
• Carry out safe mould changes and machine set-ups.
• Set and optimise machines to achieve target cycle times and productivity.
• Produce First Off samples before production begins.
• Monitor machine performance and address quality/process issues.
• Complete production documentation and update performance systems.
• Maintain clean, safe working areas.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives including SMED, TPM, automation and process optimisation.
• Complete weekly IMM fitness checks.
• Lead by example and promote a safety-first culture.

The Role

As an Injection Moulding Setter, you'll play a vital role in ensuring production runs efficiently, safely and to the highest quality standards. From carrying out mould changes and machine set-ups to optimising processes and troubleshooting issues, you'll be instrumental in keeping production moving and driving continuous improvement.

• Setting and optimising machines to achieve target cycle times and maximum productivity.
• Producing quality First Off samples before production begins.
• Monitoring machine performance and responding quickly to any quality or process issues.
• Completing production documentation accurately and updating performance systems.
• Maintaining clean, organised and safe working areas.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives including SMED, TPM, automation and process optimisation.
• Completing weekly Injection Moulding Machine (IMM) fitness checks.
• Leading by example and promoting a positive, safety-first culture.

Y'ou'll ideally have:

• Previous experience as an Injection Moulding Setter (essential).
• Formal Injection Moulding Setting qualification.
• Formal Injection Moulding Processing qualification.
• Experience with cranes, lifting & slinging and powered pallet trucks (PPT).
• IMT qualification (desirable).
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• The ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt to changing production priorities.
