Job summary

V3 Recruitment LTD is seeking an Injection Mould Setter for a site in Waterlooville. You will set production tooling, align with master settings and coordinate with supervisors and operators to ensure smooth changeovers.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent apprenticeship, and training in advanced injection moulding. This is a full-time, on-site position with firmware/process improvement expectations.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or Level 3 PTIC or equivalent in injection moulding or related subject.
• Completed Apprenticeship in a related subject.
• Aim (Advanced injection moulding).
• Process Technician training.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload injection mould tools following safe systems of work.
• Setting of production tooling and ancillary equipment in line with master settings.
• Plan and prepare upcoming production jobs to optimise changeover.
• Effective handover from set up to production with Quality Technician, Supervisors and Operator.
• Follow the reject escalation process and report issues to the Senior Technician.
• Use structured problem-solving to resolve issues with containment and corrective actions.
• Work in cross-functional teams to establish root cause and actions for process issues.
• Knowledge capture and sharing for best practice and standard work improvements.
• Maintenance of records to confirm process is in control.
• Assist the development department with NPI (trials, SMS etc).

Job description

Our client is looking for a Injection Mould Setter to work at a location in Waterlooville.

Key Responsibilities

• Load/unload injection mould tools following the safe systems of work.
• Setting of production tooling and ancillary equipment in line with master settings.
• Plan and prepare upcoming production jobs in advance to optimise changeover process.
• Effective hand over from set up to production with Quality Technician, Supervisors and Operator.
• Follow the reject escalation process and report to the Senior Technician any equipment that is failing to perform to satisfactory standards.
• Use structured problem-solving process to resolve issues with containment and permanent corrective actions.
• Work in cross-functional teams to establish root cause and corrective actions to injection moulding process issues.
• Knowledge Capture and Sharing for best practice and standard work improvements.
• Maintenance of records to confirm process is in control.
• Assist the development department with NPI (trials, SMS etc).

Key Skills & Experience

Education

• NVQ Level 3 / Level 3 PTIC or equivalent in injection moulding or other related engineering or manufacturing subject.
• Completed Apprenticeship in a related subject.
• Aim (Advanced injection moulding).
• Process Technician training.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of injection moulding process including monitoring/optimising and development of process.
• Knowledge of injection moulding machines including all safety features.
• Knowledge of injection moulding ancillary equipment including Robots/hot runner systems and mould heaters.
• Knowledge of materials processing and processing temperatures.
• Scientific moulding/DOE experience
• Use of problem-solving techniques.
• Basic knowledge of manual handling practices.
• Knowledge of conducting gate freeze studies.
• Knowledge of calculating residence times.
• Knowledge of Calculating projected clamp tonnage.
• Knowledge of injection mould tooling.
