Our client is looking for a Machine Setter Technician to work at a location in Waterlooville
Key Responsibilities for the position include:
- Load/unload injection mould tools following the safe systems of work.
- Setting of production tooling and ancillary equipment in line with master settings.
- Plan and prepare upcoming production jobs in advance to optimise changeover process
- Effective hand over from set up to production with Quality Technician, Supervisors and Operator.
- Follow the reject escalation process and report to the Senior Technician any equipment that is failing to perform to satisfactory standards.
- Use structured problem-solving process to resolve issues with containment and permanent corrective actions
- Work in cross-functional teams to establish root cause and corrective actions to injection moulding process issues
- Knowledge Capture and Sharing for best practice and standard work improvements
- Maintenance of records to confirm process is in control.
- Assist the development department with NPI (trials, SMS etc)
Key Skills & Experience required for the position include:
Education Essential
- NVQ Level 3 / Level 3 PTIC or equivalent in injection moulding or other related engineering or manufacturing subject.
Desirable
- Completed Apprenticeship in a related subject.
- Aim (Advanced injection moulding).
- Process Technician training.
Knowledge Essential
- Knowledge of injection moulding process including monitoring/optimising and development of process.
- Knowledge of injection moulding machines including all safety features.
- Knowledge of injection moulding ancillary equipment including Robots/hot runner systems and mould heaters.
- Knowledge of materials processing and processing temperatures.
- Scientific moulding/DOE experience
- Use of problem-solving techniques.
Desirable
- Basic knowledge of manual handling practices.
- Knowledge of conducting gate freeze studies.
- Knowledge of calculating residence times.
- Knowledge of Calculating projected clamp tonnage.
- Knowledge of injection mould tooling.
