Job summary

A regional legal advocacy firm is seeking a Childcare Advocate in London to join a supportive team. Responsibilities include conducting hearings and managing court work. Childcare Advocate — London Local Authority — Locum Contract — Hybrid Working Arrangement

Sellick Partnership are looking for a Childcare Lawyer, Solicitor or Barrister, who is seeking a new in-house advocacy role within an incredibly supportive and friendly team.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial hearings, case management hearings, contested initial hearings, and final hearings.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with the Court.
  • Work as part of an in-house advocacy team dealing with the team\'s court work.
  • Attend Council offices in South London as required; court hearings conducted mainly in person.
Qualifications/Experience
  • Childcare Solicitor, Barrister or in-house Childcare Advocate with public childcare experience.
  • Experience in advocacy; previous advocacy experience or as a barrister highly desirable.
  • Experience of working for a local authority is highly desirable; open to private practice or barristers with substantial public childcare matters in court.
Additional information

This role will involve some attendance at the Council offices in South London, and of course Court hearings will be conducted mainly in person. The successful Advocate will join a well established team under leadership that is friendly and supportive, with a long-term assignment.
