Working Arrangements: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 3x Per/week

Overall Objective of Role:

Responsible for the technical support (3rd line) of the IT Infrastructure; resolving issues and requests, raising and resolving problems and implementing small change.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and improvement projects.
  • Document processes, solutions, and infrastructure configurations accurately.
  • To guide best practice within the engineering function and deliver change to IT infrastructure.
  • To support the 1st and 2nd line staff in resolving complex issues
  • To provide support to other IT staff
  • To provide support and administration of the IT Infrastructure
  • To provide IS support to Infrastructure and Application projects.
  • To apply small changes in accordance with change management process
  • To guide best practice within the engineering function and deliver change to IT infrastructure.

Person Specification:

Technical skills - Essential

  • Detailed working knowledge of a broad range of Infrastructure Technologies.
  • Server Virtualisation preferably VMware
  • Hyper Converged Infrastructure preferably Nutanix
  • Azure Services preferably provision of 365 services (Entra ID, device management and SAML authentication)
  • Excellent understanding of current Windows Server and Desktop operating systems and Group Policy
  • Windows 10 / 11 build and support
  • MS SQL Products
  • Citrix technologies specifically Citrix DaaS and Citrix Cloud

Educational background or qualifications (if relevant)

  • Technical certification in at least 2 of these areas: VMware, Cisco, Microsoft,
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent experience, particularly of Service Operation and Service Transition

  • Able to explain complex matters succinctly.
  • Have the ability to adapt to new concepts and understand vendor systems and architecture.
  • Able to present ideas in business and user-friendly language.

  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrate creative use of technology to deliver innovative solutions.
