Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Dundee is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager on a major overhead line project. You will assist across programme delivery, commercial processes, HSEQ, and stakeholder engagement to help deliver key milestones.

The role requires 2–4 years in infrastructure/energy projects, proficiency with MS Project or Primavera P6, and a valid driving licence, with opportunities to grow toward a Project Manager role.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field.
• Minimum 2–4 years' experience in infrastructure/energy/construction projects (ideally transmission/OHL, civils, utilities or rail).
• Working knowledge of NEC3 contracts.
• Proficiency with MS Project or Primavera P6, plus MS Office suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Full Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Support PMs in developing, updating, and monitoring project programmes (Primavera P6 / MS Project).
• Track progress against milestones, flag delays and assist in recovery planning.
• Ensure activities align with NEC3 contract requirements, including Accepted Programme updates.
• Assist in contract administration and with EWNs/CEs, and risk registers.
