Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Join Telent, a leader in enabling critical digital infrastructure. We are seeking an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to support Highways England Contracts, focusing on maintenance and commissioning activities in designated areas including parts of the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

Work involves ensuring the functionality of motorway communication systems, responding to cable repairs, and maintaining equipment within transmission buildings and roadside cabinets. The role requires working both day and night shifts, including overtime and callouts.

Responsibilities:

• Attending to cable breaks on copper and fibre networks
• Completing commissioning of equipment to standards, on time and within budget
• Responding to equipment issues in transmission and roadside facilities
• Performing maintenance and testing on fibre and copper cables
• Completing documentation accurately and promptly

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role, with fault finding and testing skills in fibre or copper environments
• Experience with motorway communication systems
