Job summary
British Steel is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to shape and support the organisation's infrastructure services. You will collaborate with EUC, Network, Security and Development teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions while modernising the technology estate.
In this role you will administer Nutanix and other infrastructure platforms, ensure high availability, manage backups and DR, and drive automation and documentation across the IT function.
Qualifications
- Experience administering Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Experience with enterprise virtualization (Nutanix & VMware).
- Experience with high-availability server/storage compute infrastructure.
- Experience with backup/recovery solutions (NetBackup/ Veeam/ Commvault).
- Strong experience with Microsoft cloud tech (Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online).
- Experience deploying and managing enterprise devices and lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain and enhance Nutanix and related infrastructure services.
- Monitor and resolve complex infrastructure issues for high service availability.
- Manage backup, recovery and DR solutions; validate resilience.
- Support lifecycle management of servers, storage and compute platforms; handle upgrades and capacity planning.
- Develop automation and standard operating procedures to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with EUC, Network, Security and Development teams on integrated services.
