Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (SC Cleared) in Nottingham on a 6-month contract, offering a £425/day rate inside IR35 and hybrid working.

The role focuses on delivering projects and providing platform-level support for VMware/Omnissa Horizon, with hands-on troubleshooting and BAU assistance as required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with VMware/Omnissa Horizon deployments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across virtualisation platforms.
• Experience supporting design, build, test and BAU transitions.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for VMware/Omnissa Horizon and virtualisation technologies
• Support technical projects from design through BAU handover
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and platform support
• Contribute to BAU operations and technical fixes as needed
• Collaborate with client teams and third-party suppliers on delivery
• Share knowledge and guidance with wider teams

Job title: Infrastructure Engineer (SC Cleared) - VMware / Omnissa Horizon

Day rate: £425 per day - Inside IR35

Duration: 6 months initially

Location: Nottingham - Hybrid

Start date: ASAP

Security Clearance: SC Cleared

Role

This role will primarily focus on technical project delivery and platform-level support, with the flexibility to assist with BAU activities when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for VMware / Omnissa Horizon and virtualisation technologies
• Support technical projects across design, implementation, testing and transition into BAU
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and platform support
• Support BAU operations and technical fixes when required
• Collaborate with client teams and third‑party suppliers on technical delivery
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to wider teams

Skills Required

• Strong VMware / Omnissa Horizon expertise - essential
• VMware / vSphere
• Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019
• HPE server infrastructure
• Active Directory

• Basic networking and data centre experience
