Job summary

BT Group’s Infrastructure Engineering Professional role is based at our New Bailey, Manchester office with a hybrid model (3 days in, 2 days flexible). You will help build, support and secure IT infrastructure as part of a cross-functional team serving BT and external customers.

The role emphasizes collaboration with other engineers, architects and security teams, plus the drive to automate, streamline operations and improve service health. Eligibility for security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Linux administration with scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Ansible).
• SNMP monitoring and alerting experience (PRTG or equivalent).
• Network infrastructure support including IP networking, routing, and Cisco devices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain IT infrastructure components and contribute to service designs (network, security, storage, compute) in line with standards.
• Collaborate with application development, enterprise architecture, infrastructure and cyber security teams to implement roadmaps.
• Develop automation and orchestration across the environment and improve processes.
• Provide day-to-day support to internal tools and system health for projects and customer contracts.
• Collaborate with technical architects to translate designs into operations.
• Support improvements to infrastructure performance and health.
