Job summary

HMRC is seeking an experienced IT Operations professional to join the CDIO Borders and Trade Delivery Group. The role focuses on managing Border and Trade environments, ensuring platforms are reliable, secure and cost-efficient.

You will coordinate with internal teams and third-party suppliers to deliver work in line with operational priorities, driving actions to resolution with minimal business impact. A strong technical foundation is essential to engage engineers and manage risks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage Border and Trade platforms across all environments, working closely with internal teams and 3rd party suppliers to ensure services remain available, secure and performant.
  • Track and manage environments and associated assets, using agreed tooling and processes to maintain accurate data, support reporting and provide insight into estate health and usage.
  • Coordinate and assure patching and security activities, ensuring suppliers and internal teams deliver updates in line with agreed timelines and compliance standards.
  • Own the management of cyber vulnerabilities and risks, ensuring issues are understood, prioritised and actively progressed to resolution with minimal business impact.
  • Support the maintenance and improvement of environment and monitoring tooling, working with senior engineers and central teams to enhance capability and visibility.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join HMRC's CDIO (Chief Digital & Information Officer), Borders and Trade Delivery Group working within the IT Operations space.
