Amiosec is an exciting and growing UK technology company focused on innovation, agility, and state-of-the-art technology. We partner with UK government clients and commercial providers to deliver research, technology, products, and services in the communications security sector.

Reporting to the Service Operations Team Lead, you will be part of the Service Delivery team. You need to be highly organized and efficient, capable of working independently or within a multidisciplinary team. This role is crucial for supporting our business growth through successful customer outcomes.

All candidates must obtain and maintain an appropriate UK security clearance due to the nature of our work.

Typical Activities

1. Collaborate with Project Delivery teams to support stakeholder and customer outcomes.
2. Develop and improve infrastructure, policies, procedures, controls, and security guidelines.
3. Maintain the Information Security Management System and support audits for ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
4. Identify IT needs, propose solutions, and implement them.
5. Assess and mitigate risks.
6. Provide strategic guidance for future system enhancements based on risk.
7. Manage and define policies, procedures, and guidelines (PPGs).
8. Implement security procedures for end-user devices.
9. Support internal IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and security patches.
10. Work with Managed Services to develop an ITIL service culture, ensuring timely ticket resolution within SLAs.
11. Create and update support and troubleshooting documentation.
12. Provide technical assistance, fault diagnostics, and IT support.

What we're looking for

Please note: We are not seeking full coverage of all listed skills in one candidate.

1. Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Infrastructure or Systems Engineer.
2. Experience with multi-vendor enterprise IT infrastructure, including installation, design, configuration, troubleshooting, and support.
3. Experience managing technical service environments in line with SLAs.
4. Knowledge of Information Security controls within secure IT environments.
5. Experience working with frameworks like CIS, Microsoft, NCSC, ISO27001, and Cyber Essentials Plus.
6. Networking knowledge: switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing, TCP/IP, VPN/VLAN, Wi-Fi, DHCP, DNS, IP addressing, WAN, LAN.
7. Storage knowledge: SAN, iSCSI, Multipath.
8. Experience with Windows/Linux servers and desktops, including Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019/2022/2025, Ubuntu, Debian.
9. Experience with Active Directory, AD CS, GPO, Office 365, Azure, EntraID, Intune, Autopilot, WSUS.
10. Experience with virtualization: Hyper-V, Proxmox, VMware.
11. Supporting diverse software applications across various business units.
12. Ability to develop scripts in Bash and PowerShell.
13. Containerization experience with LXC and Docker.
14. Experience with Linux software like Nginx, OpenSSL, FreeIPA.
15. Experience with monitoring tools such as the ELK Stack.
16. Experience configuring air-gapped networks.
17. Experience with Service Desk and customer support tools.
