Infrastructure Engineer: Fully on site
Location: Loughborough
Salary: Up to 50k

Role

We're recruiting for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a rapidly growing organisation with a UK-wide presence, supporting over 400 users across 45+ sites. This is a varied role, balancing BAU support with the delivery of strategic infrastructure projects. You'll be working across hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud), ensuring systems remain secure, scalable, and high-performing.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, influence IT strategy, and work alongside a small but highly skilled team in a business that values proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

1. Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable IT infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments.
2. Lead cloud architecture, adoption, and security initiatives.
3. Manage Windows Server, Hyper-V, Failover Clustering, and SAN environments.
4. Administer Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
5. Monitor system performance, uptime, and capacity planning.
6. Manage Veeam backups, including monthly replication and disaster recovery processes.
7. Support and maintain core network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, routers, cradlepoints, wireless APs).
8. Provide technical support for the organisation's VoIP platform.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business-critical application deployments and iPaaS integrations.

Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience in an IT infrastructure or systems engineering role.
• Strong technical background in Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Azure, AD, Hyper-V).
• Solid networking knowledge (firewalls, VPN, VLANs, routing/switching).
• Experience managing hybrid infrastructures (on-prem SAN & cloud SaaS solutions).
• Hands-on backup/disaster recovery experience (Veeam).
• Familiarity with VOIP platforms and enterprise application integration (iPaaS tools a bonus).
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-site environment.
