Job summary

Medinet Group (Healthharmonie subsidiary) is seeking a 2nd/3rd line infrastructure engineer. You will manage Azure/Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Azure Virtual Desktop for a multi-site healthcare IT estate.

Qualifications

• 2nd/3rd line infrastructure experience is required.
• Strong Azure knowledge: Entra ID, Intune, Azure AD, and AVD.
• Experience with Microsoft 365: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive.
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, VPN.
• Windows Server administration experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Resolve escalated 2nd/3rd line tickets through to resolution.

• Support and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop for remote/hybrid workers.
• Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure across multiple sites.

• Provide technical guidance to 1st line and perform root-cause analysis.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks and diagrams.
• Assist with security monitoring, patching, and vulnerability remediation.

Our IT team supports both organisations across all technology functions, bringing together infrastructure, systems, and end-user support under a single unified function. The team works collaboratively across disciplines, with individual roles reflecting a primary specialism while contributing to the wider IT service as a whole.

Role Purpose

To provide 2nd and 3rd line infrastructure support and project delivery across the Medinet and Healthharmonie estate. Working as a peer alongside the existing infrastructure team, you will handle escalated tickets from the 1st line team, hold defined areas of infrastructure responsibility, and contribute to ongoing infrastructure projects. As the team grows, you will play a key role in ensuring the estate remains well managed, well documented, and resilient.

Key Responsibilities

• Resolve escalated 2nd and 3rd line tickets referred from the 1st line support team, taking ownership through to resolution
• Administer and support the Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 estate — including Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and licensing
• Support and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) infrastructure for remote and hybrid workers across the estate
• Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure across multiple sites — switches, firewalls, VPN, and Wi-Fi
• Hold defined areas of infrastructure responsibility, agreed at point of hire based on team skills and current gaps
• Contribute to infrastructure projects including new site setups, hardware refresh programmes, and cloud migrationsProvide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to the 1st line support team, supporting their development
• Participate in root-cause analysis for recurring or systemic incidents and implement lasting fixes
• Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation including network diagrams, configuration records, and runbooks
• Assist with security monitoring, patch management, and vulnerability remediation across the estate
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with change management processes, data protection requirements, and IT security policy
• Demonstrable experience in a 2nd or 3rd line infrastructure support role
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure — including Entra ID, Intune, Azure AD, and Azure Virtual Desktop
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 — Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and licensing
• Solid networking knowledge — TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, and VPN
• Experience with Windows Server administration
• Ability to work independently, managing priorities effectively across concurrent incidents and projects
• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with a methodical approach to fault resolution
• Clear written and verbal communication — able to explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues and stakeholders

Desirable / Advantageous

• Experience with Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN or similar enterprise firewall platforms
• Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as Intune or SCCM
• Experience supporting a multi-site organisation
• Exposure to healthcare or NHS IT environments
• Experience with ITSM platforms such as Freshservice or ServiceNow
• PowerShell scripting experience for automation of routine infrastructure tasks
• Experience with Networking technologies (Firewalls, Switches, Access Points)
