Job summary

Apple Technical Recruitment (UK) Limited is seeking a Design Manager (Infrastructure) for a Tier 1 Main Contractor in Bedfordshire with travel to the London office. The role covers design management of infrastructure and civils packages, from feasibility to on-site coordination and delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years in design management within civil engineering/infrastructure, with a degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a design management role for a Main Contractor or Consultant with a focus on civil engineering or infrastructure packages.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical compliance and design management during early feasibility, procurement, and on-site coordination.
• Liaise between design team, client, highways authorities, statutory undertakers, and on-site delivery team.
• Ensure technical accuracy and compliance with standards, S278, S38, S104, and environmental regulations.
• Drive efficient design processes aligned with project timelines, construct-ability, and commercial targets.
