Job summary

A UK-based EdTech start-up is seeking an InfoSec Manager & Compliance to strengthen its security posture. The role involves implementing compliance strategies, managing incidents, and ensuring adherence to standards like ISO 20071. Ideal candidates will have strong experience in regulated environments, particularly in EdTech or FinTech, and familiarity with security tools such as MDM and Intune. This position is hybrid, requiring 2 days a week in the Shoreditch office.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated environments; ideally EdTech or FinTech.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 20071 and Cyber Essentials Plus, data protection laws.
• Hands-on experience with MDM, Intune, Microsoft Defender, and Sentinel.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects such as SIEM deployment and IAM initiative.

Overview

Position: InfoSec Manager & Compliance (No direct reports)

Location: Central London

Hybrid: 2 days per week in the Shoreditch office

You will join a UK-based EdTech start-up (400+ employees) with educational platforms in 90% of state schools in the UK, and help strengthen security and compliance as the company grows.

Responsibilities

• Be the right-hand person to the Head of IT, helping implement and develop new security and compliance strategies to support rapid growth.
• Manage incidents and policy life-cycles; stay abreast of evolving technology and regulations; contribute to an AI policy example recently implemented.
• Lead and participate in projects such as a forthcoming SIEM deployment and Identity & Access Management initiative.
• Work in a regulated environment (ideally EdTech or FinTech) and help establish standards for compliance, risk, auditing, and data protection.
• Work with MDM, Intune, Sentinel and Defender on ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Maintain awareness of applicable standards (ISO 20071, Cyber Essentials Plus, data protection laws) and translate them into practical controls and processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated environments; ideally EdTech or FinTech.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 20071 and Cyber Essentials Plus, data protection laws; ability to create standards for compliance, risk, auditing, etc.
• Hands-on experience with MDM, Intune, Microsoft Defender, and Sentinel; forthcoming SIEM and IAM initiatives.
