What you will be doing:
The Information Technology Specialist (On-Site) will join the talented team at the Northeastern School District in Manchester, PA. You will provide support to our customers to ensure effective problem identification and resolution of software and hardware tools, including desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, and printers used throughout the educational institution.
Essential Functions:
- Set up new computers, including imaging, software installation, hardware upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct problem identification and resolution, focusing on help desk ticket resolution.
- Develop desktop strategies and configuration options to meet customer needs.
- Create, deploy, and maintain standard workstation images for desktops and laptops.
- Implement patch distribution management for desktops.
- Ensure workstations have the latest security updates, service packs, and manage BIOS & driver maintenance.
- Understand Active Directory group policies and maintain application groups.
- Apply desktop methodologies and best practices.
- Interact effectively with customers both over the phone and in person.
- Provide ongoing hardware and software support for all technologies.
- Address help desk tickets efficiently and promptly.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technology issues, documenting changes as needed.
- Manage multiple priorities, including tickets, projects, and tasks.
- Stay current with technology trends and changes related to the role.
Qualifications
Technical Skills and Experience:
- Experience in PC security administration and updates.
- Active Directory experience.
- Experience with mobile devices.
- Experience with Microsoft and iOS platforms.
Educational and General Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technically related field preferred.
- Experience providing computer and network support.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for internal and external communications.
- Ability to pass criminal background checks.
