Job summary

Brabner Fox in Liverpool is seeking a hands-on IT & Technical Manager to lead a team of IT Technicians and own senior school relationships. You will oversee service desk operations and act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure projects.

The role requires leadership experience, breadth in OS deployment, MDM licensing, and cloud architecture, plus a full driving license for travel across Liverpool/Merseyside school sites.

Qualifications

• Proven track record managing or coordinating field technicians/service desk engineers (MSP or Education sector preferred).
• Strong background in OS deployment, MDM licensing, and cloud systems architecture.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical school staff.
• Full driving license and vehicle required for travel across Liverpool/Merseyside school sites.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on leadership of a team of field technicians and service desk engineers.
• Oversee day-to-day service desk operations and Escalations (2nd/3rd line).
• Own senior relationships across selected schools and manage complaints while identifying project opportunities.
• Oversee compliance, safeguarding, ISP lines, security, web filtering and firewalls.

Following sustained growth, Brabner Fox has been retained to secure a hands-on IT & Technical Manager in Liverpool. We deliver critical, managed IT infrastructure directly to schools, ensuring digital learning environments run flawlessly

Bridging team leadership and hands-on delivery, you will lead a dedicated team of Liverpool-based IT Technicians. You will own senior client relationships with school leadership teams, oversee service desk operations, and act as the senior point of escalation for complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Hands on Technical Leadership: Line-manage, schedule, and mentor a team of field technicians. Drive performance and support career development.
• Service Delivery: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service desk
• Technical Escalation: 2nd/3rd line Engineer for Client issues & escalations
• Compliance & Safeguarding: Oversee school ISP lines, security, web filtering, and firewalls
• Account Management: Own senior relationships across selected schools, managing complaints and identifying commercial project opportunities.
