Job summary

Searchability is seeking an experienced Local IT Lead to own IT across two education sites in Stevenage. You will provide 1st to 3rd line support, manage the onsite queue, and act as the senior onsite technical resource for users. This role offers autonomy within a supportive technical team.

You will mentor junior engineers, work closely with school staff and third-party suppliers, and deliver small infrastructure projects to keep the IT environment running smoothly across both sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Senior 2nd or 3rd line IT support role.
• Hands-on with Intune or similar endpoint management.
• Strong hardware troubleshooting and deployment skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship abilities.
• Ability to work independently and own onsite IT environment.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Due to continued growth, we're working with an established Managed Services Provider that delivers high-quality IT support into the education sector. They're looking to appoint an experienced Local IT Lead to take ownership of IT across two sites in Stevenage, acting as the senior onsite technical resource and trusted point of contact for users.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on role with plenty of autonomy, whilst still having the support of a wider technical team behind them.

THE LOCAL IT LEAD ROLE

As the Local IT Lead, you'll be responsible for delivering 1st, 2nd and initial 3rd Line support across two education sites in Stevenage. You'll take ownership of the onsite ticket queue, troubleshoot complex technical issues, support classroom technology, maintain accurate documentation and asset registers, and deliver small infrastructure projects under the guidance of the Technical Account Manager.

You'll also act as the senior onsite technical contact, mentoring junior engineers, working closely with school staff and third-party suppliers, and ensuring the IT environment continues to operate efficiently across both sites.

LOCAL IT LEAD ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Previous experience in a Senior 2nd Line or 3rd Line IT Support role


• Microsoft Intune or similar endpoint management experience


• Hardware troubleshooting and deployment


• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with technical and non-technical users


• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of an onsite IT environment
