Technology Assurance Analyst

Hybrid / London office based

As part of the commercially focused Controls Assurance team, you will be a problem solver, conducting reviews of critical business processes and key technology projects. Your role involves assessing major business risk areas, especially within the change portfolio, providing insights to the Board and Senior Leadership to enhance business operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead detailed assessments of sophisticated tech platforms, applications, and core infrastructure within a trading environment.
2. Collaborate with developers and engineers to understand the technical landscape, applying a business-first risk approach.
3. Conduct risk evaluations and assurance work across critical engineering functions.
4. Employ creative testing strategies to produce insightful, data-driven findings.
5. Incorporate data throughout all review stages—from planning and execution to reporting and follow-up.
6. Present clear, impactful summaries of risk areas and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. Strong academic background, ideally a 2:1 or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
2. Solid understanding of modern software development methods, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
3. Previous experience in second or third-line risk, audit, or assurance functions, with a background in financial services.
4. Ability to operate confidently in fast-paced environments where system reliability is critical.
5. Proficient in working with datasets and solving problems systematically.
6. Familiarity with analytical tools like Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or programming in Python is advantageous.
