Technology Assurance Analyst

Hybrid / London office based

Astrum Search is supporting a forward-thinking research and technology (FinTech) company specializing in financial research, IT infrastructure, and machine learning.

As part of the Controls Assurance team, you will conduct reviews of critical business processes and key technology projects, assess risk areas, and provide insights to the Board and Senior Leadership to improve business operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead assessments of tech platforms, applications, and infrastructure within a trading environment.
2. Collaborate with developers and engineers to understand the technical landscape and apply a risk-based approach.
3. Perform risk evaluations and assurance work on engineering functions.
4. Develop creative testing strategies to generate data-driven insights.
5. Incorporate data into all review stages, from planning to reporting.
6. Present risk findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders clearly and concisely.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. Strong academic background, ideally a 2:1 or higher in Computer Science or related field.
2. Understanding of modern software development practices like Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
3. Experience in risk, audit, or assurance roles within financial services.
4. Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.
5. Proficiency in working with datasets and structured problem-solving.
6. Knowledge of analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or programming in Python is advantageous.
