Location: Europe (preferably UK, France, Netherlands, Italy) - Remote

Spencer Rigby has partnered with a global Ophthalmic Medical Device company seeking a hands-on IT Application Development Manager who is ready to lead, innovate, and shape the digital infrastructure of the company's systems and data landscape.

This is a high-impact leadership role involving managing a talented development team, owning system architecture, and delivering scalable solutions that support global operations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a high-performing internal development team on major technical initiatives
• Architect and develop a robust, scalable systems and data landscape
• Ensure 24/7 system reliability
• Promote best practices across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and maintain documentation
• Mentor team members and stakeholders in modern tools and methodologies
• Collaborate with IT and business leaders to develop innovative, value-driven solutions
• Work with vendors to ensure smooth operation of key systems like ERP, QMS, and PLM

Qualifications:

• Hands-on leadership experience in tech development within Medical Devices or advanced manufacturing
• Expertise in system architecture and design
• Experience leading support teams for global, 24/7 operations
• Proficiency in Azure, Java, and API integration
• Vendor management experience, especially with ERP, QMS, and PLM systems
