Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Information System Specialist to join the Application Innovation & Data Team within Digital Innovation and ICT, Strategic Enabling Services.

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented individual to join our team with a focus on applying analytical tools to provide business insights on trends, behaviour, and anomaly detection. You will be responsible for producing accurate and insightful reports and documentation to support the team in their role of supporting the wider department with system usage and information recording. This role is crucial in communicating complex technical information clearly, helping colleagues make informed decisions and optimize IT resources.

To succeed, you will need strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges. You will transform complex business information into clearly scoped analysis outputs. Comfort with large datasets, designing, and refining interactive dashboards is essential.

In this role, you would need to:

  • Develop and maintain ad-hoc reports for anomaly detection.
  • Analyze the root causes of system problems and work towards resolution.
  • Support help desk colleagues by investigating queries and providing recommendations with supporting analysis.
  • Design and build interactive dashboards.
  • Extract and explore data confidently using SQL, Report Manager, and other tools as required.
  • Communicate with social care colleagues to gather requirements and understand business challenges or client-specific issues.

You will need:

  • Experience in data analysis, working with large amounts of client and financial data.
  • Advanced Excel and SQL skills.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and developing interactive dashboards that enable self-service.
  • Understanding or willingness to learn social care and financial processes.
