Job summary

Leading National Charity is seeking an Information Rights Officer to join the Data Protection and Compliance team on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract, with possible extension. The role focuses on DSARs and information rights, requiring careful handling of sensitive data, strong judgement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will support data protection commitments, risk assessments, breach handling, and policy development while maintaining regulatory

Qualifications

• Experience managing Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and other information rights requests.
• Practical knowledge of the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 and applying it to real-world scenarios.
• Experience working with sensitive personal information in charitable/public sector environments."
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain complex data protection matters clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage Data Subject Access Requests from receipt through to completion, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Identify and collate information, apply exemptions, perform redactions and disclosures.
• Coordinate disclosures with external organisations and statutory agencies.
• Support data protection investigations, DPIAs and LIAs as required.
• Maintain information governance records and assist with policy reviews.
