Job summary

Nottinghamshire Police is seeking an Information Request Officer for its Information Management Unit. You will manage FOI, SARs, EIRs, and other information disclosure requests, researching and retrieving data from force systems to support accurate responses.

The role requires knowledge of data protection and information rights legislation, with strong analytical and communication skills to liaise with colleagues, legal advisors, and partner agencies. On-site facilities are available.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Data Protection, Freedom of Information and information rights legislation.
  • Experience handling confidential, sensitive or personal information in line with legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and respond to Freedom of Information (FOI), Subject Access Requests (SARs), Environmental Information Regulations (EIR), Court Orders and other information disclosure requests.
  • Research, analyse and retrieve information from Force systems and records to support accurate responses.
  • Liaise with officers, staff, legal advisors and partner agencies to gather and assess relevant information.
  • Apply exemptions, redactions and disclosure provisions in line with legislation and organisational policies.
  • Maintain clear audit trails and records to support lawful and transparent decision-making.
  • Support investigations into complaints, reviews and challenges relating to information disclosure decisions.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of information governance policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and partner organisations.

Are you a detail-oriented, analytical professional with a strong understanding of information governance and data protection? We are seeking an Information Request Officer to join our Information Management Unit at Nottinghamshire Police.

What you'll do

  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment and building effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and information management systems.
  • Relevant experience in information governance, disclosure, data protection or a related field.
