We are looking for an Information Insight Analyst to join our Data and Analytics team to help drive insight-driven decision making across Imperial College. This role, based within the College’s Information & Community Technology (ICT) department, is key to facilitating analysts across the College to make the most of Microsoft Fabric, including Power BI. We are a small, dynamic team at the heart of making the College a data-driven environment using industry-leading tools.

If this sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you!

You’ll be working within a product team, using a deep understanding of the Microsoft Fabric platform to enable the best use of the tools available at Imperial. Our team focuses on implementing new functionalities, developing usage patterns, and helping our large team of developers to implement their analytics solutions. Our team culture is highly collaborative, valuing self-organization and communication. We are a change-focused team, always seeking new ideas and initiatives to improve our work.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Designing optimal development of Power BI analytics products
  2. Enabling developers to make the best use of the Fabric platform for their data solutions
  3. Ensuring the quality of analytics through rigorous testing approaches
  4. Designing and supporting star schemas based on business requirements
  5. Advising on the secure implementation of analytics, in line with College practices

We’re passionate about learning and development, and we hope you will be too! This role offers opportunities to enhance existing skills and learn new ones, particularly around the rapidly developing Fabric platform.

Overall, you should have strong Power BI skills and be able to adapt quickly to new technologies and tools.

Desired skills and qualities:
  • Clear communicator – both written and verbal, keen to liaise with staff across the College and participate in team and agile activities
  • Problem-solving skills – seeking the right solutions to deliver value
  • Expertise in Power BI
  • Self-motivated, with enthusiasm for creative solutions and process improvement
  • Desire to continually learn and improve
  • Understanding of requirements gathering and translating those into star schemas

Join us at a world-leading institution and be part of our mission to use science for humanity. Benefit from a sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 39 days’ annual leave and generous pension schemes).

Enjoy access to a range of workplace benefits, including flexible working policies from day one, generous family leave, on-site leisure facilities, and a cycle-to-work scheme.

Take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans for travel and be part of a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work culture with various resources to support your personal and professional growth.
