Job summary

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Information Governance Officer to join the Information Governance Team. The role supports statutory and regulatory IG obligations, data protection, FOI, DPIAs, incident management, auditing and confidentiality across the Trust.

You will advise staff, manage IG enquiries, and help improve IG processes and compliance while delivering a customer‑focused service.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with 2 years working in Information Governance (IG) environment
• Excellent knowledge of Excel and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative, analytical and project support to the senior Information Governance management team
• Interpret and analyse complex information to support governance, reporting and decision‑making across the Trust
• Support DPIAs, ensuring information is recorded and available for review and approval
• Monitor IG work programme and dashboard, flagging non‑compliance or risks to the Head of Information Governance
• Assist with IG incidents, FOI requests and Service Desk queries, with coverage for colleagues as needed
• Attend IG Steering Groups and meetings, preparing papers and progress reports
• Be a knowledgeable point of contact for staff and patients on IG policies and processes
• Assist with development and rollout of IG policies, guidance and systems
• Maintain the IG SharePoint library with version control
• Contribute to annual IG audit programme and staff awareness of policies
• Support data mapping and information sharing agreements, ensuring proper documentation
