Job summary

Your World Recruitment Group is seeking an Information Governance Assurance Officer for a NHS organisation in the United Kingdom. The temporary role supports the Information Governance Assurance Manager to deliver DSPT, CQC and IG assurance across the trust.

The post involves 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, based in an office or hospital setting. Start ASAP; booking expected for 3 months with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
• Formal IG/Data Protection qualification such as ISEB or GDPR Practitioner.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Significant experience with data handling, manipulation, and analysis related to governance metrics.
• Experience working with sensitive information in healthcare.
• Understanding of NHS IG statutory guidance and DSPT requirements.
• Proven experience writing board-level and committee reports.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Understanding of risk-based IG principles and governance structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to influence.

Responsibilities

• Governance Framework: Assist in implementing, managing, and assuring an IG framework.
• Risk Assessments: Complete DPIAs and identify privacy risks for new projects.
• Audit & Asset Management: Develop IG audit schedule and support data mapping.
• Reporting & Escalation: Collate IG risk data for Caldicott Committees and Hospital Board.
• Incident Management: Process IG incidents and data breaches using Datix.
• Training & Awareness: Deliver IG training for all staff levels.
• Data Sharing & Rights: Monitor data protection compliance and handle SRs/complaints.
• Deputising: Represent IG Manager at key committee meetings.
