Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council in Stevenage is seeking an Information Analyst to join the Data Collection Team within Corporate Performance and Transformation. You will support the delivery of major DfE and local authority data collections, ensuring data is accurate, consistent and submitted on time.

The role requires advanced Excel skills, experience with data quality checks and the ability to manage a busy workload while communicating with stakeholders at various levels.

  • Advanced Excel skills including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation.
  • Experience with completing data quality checks, maintaining accurate records, and producing information to deadlines.
  • Experience managing a busy workload and delivering accurate work within tight timescales.
  • Experience building effective working relationships and communicating with stakeholders at different levels.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Data Collection team in delivering major DfE and local authority data collections.
  • Ensure data submitted is accurate, consistent and on time and meets required standards.
  • Assist in maintaining in-house systems used for checking and production of the collections.
  • Stay in touch with changes/developments and implement them with the team.

Job Introduction
Job Title: Information Analyst
Starting Salary: £32,578 progressing to £35,570 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Robertson House, Stevenage

About the Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Data Collection Team which sits within the Corporate Performance and Transformation unit. The team is handles the collection, processing and error checking of schools returns (both statutory and non statutory) This list of collections includes major DfE and local authority returns and submissions.
Our main clients are Childrens Services, but we also provide data and analysis to other departments when required.

About the role

Working within the Corporate Performance & Transformation unit and reporting to the Data Collection Manger, you will assist the Data Collection team in the delivery of major DfE and local authority data collections.
You will play a key role in ensuring that the data submitted is accurate, consistent and on time and meets the required standards.
You will also assist the team manager in maintaining the in house developed systems used for the checking and production of the collections and stay in touch with the latest collection changes/developments and work within the team to implement the changes.
The duties and responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at present. The post holder is expected to accept any reasonable alterations that may from time to time be necessary

About you
Essential
  • Demonstrable experience in an administrative, data management, HR, finance, or business support environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience using functions such as formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation, or similar tools to analyse and check data.
  • Experience of completing data quality checks, maintaining accurate records, and producing information to agreed deadlines.
  • Experience of managing a busy workload and delivering accurate work within tight timescales.
  • Experience of building effective working relationships and communicating confidently with stakeholders at different levels of an organisation.
Desirable
  • Experience of the working on Local authority collections and using associated systems.
  • A good working knowledge of schools and school’s data.
  • Familiar with using databases.
