Job summary

Integrated Pathology Partnerships Limited in Taunton, UK, is seeking a Biomedical Scientist with HCPC registration and IBMS Specialist Portfolio to join Infection Sciences. The role covers Bacteriology, Parasitology, Virology, Molecular and Mycology, with weekend and on‑call enhancements and a potential £10,000 welcome bonus.

You will rotate through all areas, lead designated sections, and train staff while ensuring ISO/UKAS compliance and high quality results across the hub laboratory.

Qualifications

• BSc IBMS accredited degree or equivalent.
• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist.
• IBMS membership is required.
• Willing to work towards higher degree or management qualification.
• Advanced working knowledge of Biomedical techniques.
• Independent worker with capability to lead own area.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice to clinical staff and ensure quality standards.
• Lead designated area within Infection Sciences and drive service development.
• Operate LIMS and quality systems; maintain CPD and training.
• Manage procedures, audits, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Support and train Basic Grade staff, Trainee BMS, and assistants.
