Amey Ltd in Exeter is offering an Industry Placement in Bridges and Civil Structures Engineering for September 2027. You will join the Bridges and Civil Structures team, contributing to investigations, option development, and detailed design on UK and international projects.

The role provides hands-on experience with structural analysis, 3D models, and asset management under expert supervision. We welcome motivated students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil or Structural Engineering who

Responsibilities

• Be part of an experienced team, working on exciting projects across the UK and internationally.
• Help develop practical, sustainable solutions for bridges and civil structures; from investigation to optioneering, feasibility, concept and detailed design, construction supervision and asset management.
• Assist in structural analysis, design and assessment calculations.
• Develop carbon and cost estimates, 3D models, drawings and technical documents.
• Assist with bridge inspections, investigations, structural health monitoring, and supervision of works.

Our clients include National Highways, Transport Scotland, Network Rail, Welsh Government, Department for Infrastructure, MOW Bahamas, Local Authorities and D&B Contractors. We have multiple long-term contracts and continue to grow and expand into new regions and markets. Recent / ongoing projects include:

What you'll be doingAs a Bridges and Civil Structures Placement Student, over the 12 months you will

• Be part of an experienced team, working on some of the most exciting and challenging projects across the UK and internationally.
• Help develop practical, sustainable solutions for bridges and civil structures; from investigation to optioneering, feasibility, concept and detailed design, construction supervision and asset management.
• Assist in structural analysis, design and assessment calculations.
• Develop carbon and cost estimates, 3D models, drawings and technical documents.
• Assist with bridge inspections, investigations, structural health monitoring, and supervision of works
• Contribute to the development and implementation of world-class data, analytics and digital technology solutions.
