Amey Ltd is offering an Industry Placement in Structures (Bridges and Civil Structures). Location: Belfast. Salary: £26,582. Start date: September 2027. You will join a consulting team working on notable projects with National Highways and Network Rail, gaining hands-on experience from day one.

The placement provides exposure to design, analysis and asset management tasks, with mentoring from industry experts and opportunities to develop practical skills for the UK's infrastructure sector.

Qualifications

• Currently studying a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
• Interest in bridges / civil structures.
• Commitment to sustainable development.

Responsibilities

• Be part of an experienced Bridges and Civil Structures team on UK and international projects.
• Assist in structural analysis, design and assessments.

About the Team
Our bridges and civil structures team work across a range of sectors including transportation, water and energy. Our clients include National Highways, Transport Scotland, Network Rail, Welsh Government, Department for Infrastructure, MOW Bahamas, Local Authorities and D&B Contractors. We have multiple long-term contracts and continue to grow and expand into new regions and markets. Recent / ongoing projects include:

What you’ll be doing
As a Bridges and Civil Structures Placement Student, over the 12 months you will

• Be part of an experienced team, working on some of the most exciting and challenging projects across the UK and internationally.


• Help develop practical, sustainable solutions for bridges and civil structures; from investigation to optioneering, feasibility, concept and detailed design, construction supervision and asset management.


• Assist in structural analysis, design and assessment calculations.


• Develop carbon and cost estimates, 3D models, drawings and technical documents.


• Assist with bridge inspections, investigations, structural health monitoring, and supervision of works


• Contribute to the development and implementation of world-class data, analytics and digital technology solutions.
