Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting for a Recruitment Consultant to join our branch based in Newcastle under Lyme, supporting a busy temporary desk with a strong focus on industrial, logistics, warehousing and manufacturing roles across the Stoke area.

This permanent, full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm; you will manage the full recruitment lifecycle and grow a profitable temporary desk.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience as a Recruitment Consultant, Temp Consultant or Internal Recruiter.
• Proven experience recruiting within industrial sectors (warehouse, logistics, manufacturing).
• Successful track record of running a temp desk ideally.
• Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
• Proactive, sales-driven and target-focused mindset; confidence and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Source and place candidates into temporary assignments across industrial/logistics environments.
• Manage branch enquiries via phone and email from clients and candidates.
• Oversee weekly payroll for 40+ temporary workers.
• Write and post engaging job adverts across job boards and platforms.
• Conduct telephone screens, face-to-face and WhatsApp video registrations.
• Build and maintain client relationships through regular contact and on-site visits.
• Negotiate rates and terms with clients and candidates.
• Generate new business using sales, business development and networking techniques.
• Identify leads and convert them into sales opportunities; attend client meetings.
• Keep CRM records up to date and compliant.
• Understand market trends, margins and competitor activity to maximise performance.
• Achieve KPIs and contribute to branch success.
