Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting a Recruitment Consultant to join the Newcastle under Lyme branch, supporting a busy temporary desk with an industrial focus across Stoke area. You’ll manage full lifecycle recruitment, liaise with clients and candidates, and drive a high-volume, high-quality temp solution.

The role is permanent, full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with opportunities to grow the desk and earn uncapped commissions as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience as a Recruitment Consultant, Temp Consultant or Internal Recruiter.
• Proven experience recruiting within industrial sectors (warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, production).
• A successful track record of running a temp desk ideally.
• Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
• A proactive, sales-driven and target-focused mindset.
• Confidence, resilience and a “whatever it takes” team attitude.

Responsibilities

• Source and place candidates into temporary assignments across industrial and logistics environments.
• Manage branch enquiries via phone and email from clients and candidates.
• Oversee payroll for 40+ temporary workers weekly.
• Write and post engaging job adverts on boards and platforms.
• Conduct telephone screens, face-to-face and video registrations.
• Build and maintain client relationships through regular contact and visits.
• Negotiate rates and terms with clients and candidates.
• Generate new business using sales, marketing and networking.
• Identify leads and convert them into sales opportunities.
• Attend client meetings to present Meridian’s recruitment solutions.
• Keep CRM fully up to date and compliant.
• Monitor market trends, margins and competitor activity to maximise performance.
• Achieve KPIs and contribute to branch success.
• Own transport is essential for regular client visits.
