GRAHAM Academy in Northern Ireland invites an Industrial Placement student to join our Commercial Team as a Quantity Surveyor. This role offers exposure to Civil Engineering projects and a structured program to develop professional competencies within a leading infrastructure group.

Applicants should be studying Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, have good communication skills, and hold a valid UK driving licence; right to work in the UK is required. Applications open for 2027 intake.

Qualifications

• Studying Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management to degree level at university or technical college.
• Demonstrate an understanding of construction management practices.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills.
• Full Driving Licence.
• Right to Work in the UK.

Responsabilités

• Check and process sub-contract payments for work completed.
• Ensure that Subcontractors are not charging for work that wasn’t completed.
• Produce schedules of what materials etc. are needed to complete a project so that these can be ‘bought’ from sub-contractors.
• Prepare and manage the accounts for projects.
• Produce regular reports on cost & value.
• Produce spend profiles and regular forecasts for projects.
• Identify and manage risk and opportunities.
• Take off drawings.
• Site measurement.
• Liaise with those onsite to obtain site records and reconciling these against works claimed.
• Agree changes with Client’s commercial team.
• Deal with all legal contracts and their clauses for a project.
