GRAHAM Academy in Northern Ireland is offering an Industrial Placement in Quantity Surveying within our Civil Engineering discipline. You will gain hands-on experience in commercial management across building, civil engineering, and interior fit-out projects.

As part of the Commercial Team, you will assist with subcontract payments, cost reporting, forecasts, and risk management, while developing professional skills under supervision. Close to 2027 intake details and deadline apply.

Qualifications

• Currently studying Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management at university or college.
• Demonstrate understanding of construction management practices.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and driving licence; right to work in the UK.

Responsabilités

• Check and process sub-contract payments for work completed
• Ensure that Subcontractors are not charging for work that wasn’t completed
• Produce schedules of what materials etc. are needed to complete a project so that these can be ‘bought’ from sub-contractors
• Prepare and manage the accounts for projects
• Produce regular reports on cost & value
• Produce spend profiles and regular forecasts for projects
• Identify and manage risk and opportunities
• Take off drawings
• Site measurement
• Liaise with those onsite to obtain site records and reconciling these against works claimed
• Agree changes with Client’s commercial team
• Deal with all legal contracts and their clauses for a project
