Job summary

Evolito in Oxfordshire is offering a 12-month Software Engineering Industrial Placement for students pursuing engineering disciplines with embedded software content. You will work on live customer projects from day one and gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing aerospace tech company.

You will contribute to embedded software development, write requirements and designs, run hardware-in-the-loop tests, and learn aerospace processes including DO-178C.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an industrial placement year as part of your degree.
• Good knowledge of C and/or Python.
• Interest in embedded software and aerospace context.

Responsibilities

• Develop and verify embedded software for motor controller products.
• Write requirements, design docs, and code for safety-critical software.
• Create and run test cases using hardware-in-the-loop platforms.
• Peer-review software artefacts and support the project team.
• Learn aerospace software processes including DO-178C.

What you'll do

As a member of our 12-month Software Engineering Industrial Placement Programme, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on live customer projects from day one.

You’ll have the opportunity to

• Contribute to the development and verification of embedded software for Evolito motor controller products
• Write software requirements and produce design documentation and code for safety-critical software
• Write and execute test cases using hardware-in-the-loop test platforms
• Peer review software development artefacts and support the wider project team
• Gain experience of aerospace software processes aligned with RTCA DO-178C Design Assurance Level A
• Receive mentoring and support throughout the programme

What we're looking for

• Are studying Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline with embedded software content
• Need to complete an industrial placement year as part of their course
• Have good knowledge of C and/or Python
• Enjoy solving problems using a logical and structured approach
• Are self-motivated, collaborative and eager to learn
