Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an Industrial Placement Civil Engineer in Falmer, East Sussex. The 12-month placement will run 40 hours per week, starting September 2027, with potential to progress to a Graduate position.

You will assist in planning, coordination, design and management of Water sector projects under the Southern Water Framework, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship in construction and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Civil Engineering degree with a placement year option (2027–2028).
• Willingness to complete a 12-month placement and return to university.

Starting Salary:£27,798 per annum

What you will be responsible for?

As an Industrial Placement Civil Engineer, you'll be assisting in the planning &coordination, design & management of construction projects and on-site activitiesin managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of infrastructure projects. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and develop a strong foundation in quantity surveying.

We're on the lookout for students undertaking a degree in Civil Engineering, who have the option or requirement to complete a placement year from 2027 - 2028. After your placement, you'll be returning to university with a graduation year of 2029.
