Company: Automation Engineering Consultancy Firm

Areas: Defence, Factory Automation, UK Critical Infrastructure

Development: Progression and technical development

Based: Sheffield office and various UK site work

Offer: Up to £55k + overtime + vehicle + private medical

Talentometry has partnered with an Industrial Automation Engineering Consultancy to expand their Industrial ICT team. Clients include Defence, large multinational industrial entities, and the UK Government.

The role involves travel to different sites in the UK (travel time paid). Key responsibilities include:

• Network Management: Design, configure, and maintain networks, including switching, routing, security, and wireless technologies. Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and optimize networks.
• Server and Client Configuration & Support: Manage servers and client systems to ensure stability, security, and performance. Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software.
• Patch Management: Implement and oversee patch processes to keep systems updated and secure. Address vulnerabilities proactively.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement backup solutions to protect critical data.
• Collaboration and Documentation: Work with teams to understand IT requirements. Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Use tools to monitor network/system performance. Generate reports on health and security metrics.
• User Support: Provide technical support to end-users, resolving issues promptly.

About You: We seek candidates with experience underpinning critical infrastructure or live production systems, possessing:

• At least 5 years of practical experience.
• Deep knowledge of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, wireless).
• Experience with network security protocols.
• CISCO CCNA or equivalent certification.

Preferred/Additional Skills:

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
• SOC, SIEM, SNMP experience.
• Interest in IoT/OT/ICS.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
