Company: Automation Engineering Consultancy Firm

Talentometry has partnered with an Industrial Automation Engineering Consultancy to expand their Industrial ICT team. Clients range from Defence, large multinational industrial entities, to the UK Government.

The role involves travel to various UK sites (travel time paid). Key responsibilities include:

1. Network Management: Design, configure, and maintain networks, including switching, routing, security, and wireless technologies. Monitor performance, troubleshoot, and optimize.
2. Server and Client Configuration & Support: Manage servers and client systems for stability, security, and performance. Install and maintain hardware and software.
3. Patch Management: Ensure systems are up-to-date with security patches. Address vulnerabilities proactively.
4. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement data backup solutions.
5. Collaboration and Documentation: Work with teams and document configurations and procedures.
6. Monitoring and Reporting: Use tools to track performance and generate reports.
7. User Support: Provide technical support and resolve issues promptly.

About You:

These systems underpin significant production or critical infrastructure. Essential skills include:

1. At least 5 years’ practical experience.
2. Deep knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, wireless).
3. Experience with network security protocols.
4. CISCO CCNA or equivalent.

Preferred Skills:

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
• SOC, SIEM, SNMP.
• Interest in IoT/OT/ICS.
• Experience with network management tools.
