Job summary

Forward Assist Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a permanent, full-time role in Billingham. You will work on a continental shift pattern, responding to breakdowns and performing planned maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems in a heavy manufacturing environment.

The role offers a strong emphasis on fault-finding, hands-on maintenance, and installation work with regular overtime opportunities and a competitive salary package of 59,500

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical maintenance or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Hands-on maintenance experience in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy engineering environments.
• Experience fault-finding on electrical and/or mechanical plant.

Responsibilities

• Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns and faults.
• Carry out planned, preventive and reactive maintenance across plant and equipment.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise downtime.
• Perform electrical installation work where required.
• Support site electrical and control systems maintenance.
• Work with PLC and plant control systems and ensure safety compliance.
