Job summary

Forward Assist Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering and manufacturing operation in Middlesbrough.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults, perform planned and reactive maintenance, support PLC and plant control systems, and work closely with production to keep plant safe and reliable.

The role is full-time and permanent with a shift pattern to be confirmed; salary is 45k-50k depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Must have recognised mechanical or electrical apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience in maintenance engineering within manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong fault-finding across electrical and/or mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of PLCs and plant control systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns and diagnose faults efficiently.
• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across plant and equipment.
• Complete electrical installation work where required.
• Support the maintenance and reliability of electrical and control systems.
• Fault-finding across mechanical systems and equipment.
• Work with PLC and plant control systems.
• Ensure engineering activities meet safety and compliance standards.
• Record maintenance activity and help ensure planned work is completed effectively.
