Job summary

Luxfer MEL Technologies - UK is seeking a seasoned Facilities Manager to lead onsite engineering and maintenance, coordinating with external contractors to keep site utilities and energy systems safe and efficient.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will drive energy improvement, ensure EA permit and ISO 14001 compliance, develop emergency plans, and contribute to CAPEX planning while supporting daily production operations.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including Science, Mathematics and English.
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering or Science, ideally with a degree.
• 5+ years’ experience as Facilities Manager in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
• Understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Leadership experience and/or qualification is an advantage.
• Experience with ISO 14001 is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site utilities (steam boilers, water treatment, effluent) for optimal operation.
• Lead energy efficiency improvements and sustainability initiatives.
• Manage onsite engineers and liaise with external contractors.
• Ensure compliance with EA permit and ISO 14001.
• Develop emergency response plans and safety procedures.
• Negotiate supplier contracts and manage service delivery.
• Maintain water and heating across the site.
