Job summary

Witan Search seeks a Production Chemist for a UK-based chemical processing and distribution business. You will develop, run and optimise production processes to meet strict quality and safety standards within a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Based in the UK operations, you will perform QC tests with GC, HPLC and spectroscopy, handle air-sensitive reagents, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in production, manufacturing or laboratory environments.
• Strong knowledge of industrial chemistry and process operations.
• Hands-on with analytical instruments: GC, HPLC and spectroscopy.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to safety and documentation.
• Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise chemical processes for efficient, high-quality production.
• Run and monitor mixing and repackaging; safely handle air-sensitive reagents.
• Quality control testing on raw materials and finished goods per specs.
• Identify and troubleshoot production issues to improve efficiency.
• Maintain clear documentation: batch records, results, logs.
• Collaborate with management and production teams on procedures.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality regs.
